My dooooooods,
Even though we've been plagued by a ton of absences, I think we're about to hit a stride. Here's what you guys should work on this week (and going forward).
-Try to finish the basics (verses & choruses, intros & endings, bridges, etc) as soon as you possibly can. This includes memorizing lyrics and song structure! Quiz yourself until you've got it down!
-You should be pretty far along on all of your solos and fills by now. Keep plugging away at those and try to make them just a little better each day. It's a long process! You can't just cram em at the last second.
-If a part is new to you, try to play it anyway! If you can't play something perfectly, that doesn't mean you can just sit out at your rehearsals. You've got to give it your best!
-Work on the parts that scare you! Work on the parts that you know the least! Don't just keep jamming the same parts you already know!
This show RULES when it comes together, but it takes a lot of team work. Practice together when you're in the student lounge! Ask your bandmates for help! Be prepared and work together!
