Note to the 2000s crew for July 29th

Hey guys!!

I know I was probably more demanding today than usual, but it's because I know how much rad stuff you can bring to the stage. Every single one of you have been cast on songs that are hard, but never impossible! If you keep attacking the parts that scare you the most (or even frustrate you the most), you can't help but improve and the show will rule.

There are some simple things that are holding you back. STRUCTURE, LYRICS, and BASICS. At this point, you should be able to recite the structure and the lyrics (for vocalists) in your sleep, so get that stuff more solid if it seems hazy. For every song, you should be able to kill the basics (verses/choruses/bridges/etc) without any question of how long something is, or how to play a certain chord/groove/etc.

Please make sure you know how to play all your parts this week. For real. All your parts. It's ok to say that you're still getting better at your solos and fills, but you should know what those parts are.

Drummers, you should all hit harder! Vocalists should sing louder! Bassists should try to never let their bass fart (poppy, slappy, fret noise)! Guitarists should make sure all the notes in their chords ring out! Keyboardists should know how to find their sound in both rooms!

Get crackin'! I know you can do it, you just have to believe it too.
